The head of the Political Finances Monitoring Department, Besik Kochiashvili opened the meeting with the presentation and introduced the activities carried out by the SAO in 2020-2021 and the results of the monitoring of electoral subjects during the pre-election period to the participants.

The changes that were made in the reporting forms of electoral subjects by the order of the Auditor General this year was also evaluated over the meeting.

For the 2021 local self-government elections, the SAO monitors 42 political parties and 74 independent candidates. The NGOs were provided with information on the declarations of electoral subjects and their monitoring status.

The presentation included information on the subjects' incomes, donations and expenses - both during 2021 and before the elections. The representatives of the Political Finances Monitoring Department also discussed the cases of administrative offences sent to the court in 2020-2021.

The non-governmental sector was interested in information on the status of materials requested from donors from the Revenue Service.

The online meeting from the non-governmental sector was attended by: Transparency International-Georgia (TI), Georgian Young Lawyers' Association (GYLA), International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED), Civic Platform 20/20, International Center for Civic Culture, New Generation for Democratic Georgia.
